Florida State League
The Florida State League section tracks Single-A baseball clubs based across Florida. Coverage focuses on game recaps, prospects, promotions, roster moves and player-development stories, while teams directly affiliated with the Miami Marlins are grouped under the Marlins organization instead of duplicated here. The Florida State League was organized in 1919 with clubs in cities including Bartow, Bradenton, Lakeland, Orlando, Sanford and Tampa. After periods of inactivity and a World War II suspension, the league became one of Minor League Baseball's longest-running circuits; it was temporarily branded Low-A Southeast in 2021 before the Florida State League name returned in 2022. Generations of future major leaguers have passed through its Florida ballparks.
New Florida State League coverage will appear here as Florida Sports Blog publishes it.
