Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins category follows the National League club from the major-league roster through its farm system. Florida Sports Blog covers games, transactions, injuries, prospects, the MLB Draft and organizational development; Jacksonville, Pensacola, Beloit and Jupiter are organized beneath the Marlins branch as the club's full-season affiliates. The franchise began as the Florida Marlins in 1993, becoming the state's first Major League Baseball team. Miami won the World Series as a wild card in 1997 and again in 2003, then adopted the Miami Marlins name in 2012 with the opening of the club's new ballpark. The organization has also developed and traded generations of notable major-league talent, making its farm system central to the franchise's identity.
