Eckerd Tritons

The Eckerd Tritons category covers Eckerd College athletics at the NCAA Division II level. The program competes primarily in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Eckerd is a founding member of the Sunshine State Conference, which began competition in 1975, and has maintained a distinctive waterfront-based Division II athletic identity in St. Petersburg. Triton men's basketball reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 2003, while volleyball, soccer, tennis, golf, sailing and other programs have made national postseason appearances. Eckerd's teal-and-navy Triton branding was modernized in the 2000s while the school remained rooted in the SSC.
