Miami Hurricanes

The Miami Hurricanes category covers University of Miami athletics at the NCAA Division I level. The program competes primarily in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Florida Sports Blog tracks schedules, scores, recruiting, coaching changes, conference races, postseason play and major program developments across the school's men's and women's teams. Miami football began in 1926 and grew into a defining national program with five claimed national championships in 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 2001. Hurricanes baseball added four NCAA titles in 1982, 1985, 1999 and 2001, while other sports have also produced national champions and Olympians. Miami joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2004 after a long independent football history and a successful Big East era.
