MLB
Florida's MLB hub covers the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays from the major-league roster through each club's player-development pipeline. Team categories include farm-system branches so affiliate news, prospects, promotions and organizational stories remain connected to the parent franchise. Major League Baseball came to Florida in 1993 with the Florida Marlins and expanded again in 1998 with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The Marlins won World Series championships in 1997 and 2003 and became the Miami Marlins in 2012, while Tampa Bay rebranded as the Rays in 2008 and won American League pennants in 2008 and 2020. Both organizations also sit atop extensive player-development systems that connect Florida baseball to affiliates throughout the country.
New MLB coverage will appear here as Florida Sports Blog publishes it.
