Jacksonville Dolphins
The Jacksonville Dolphins category covers Jacksonville University athletics at the NCAA Division I level. Football competes in the Pioneer Football League while most other varsity sports compete in the ASUN. Florida Sports Blog tracks schedules, scores, recruiting, coaching changes, conference races, postseason play and major program developments across the school's men's and women's teams. Jacksonville University's intercollegiate athletics history includes NJCAA and NAIA eras before the Dolphins moved to NCAA Division I competition in the 1960s. The men's basketball program reached the 1970 NCAA championship game behind Artis Gilmore, still one of the most famous runs by a Florida college team. JU later became a long-time member of the conference now known as the ASUN and has built successful programs in lacrosse, baseball, rowing and other sports.
New Jacksonville Dolphins coverage will appear here as Florida Sports Blog publishes it.
