Savannah Ghost Pirates

The Savannah Ghost Pirates category follows the ECHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers and Charlotte Checkers. Florida Sports Blog tracks prospect assignments, call-ups, roster changes and development stories that connect Savannah to the Panthers organization. The Ghost Pirates were approved as an ECHL expansion franchise in 2021 and began play in the 2022-23 season at Enmarket Arena. Savannah became the Florida Panthers' ECHL affiliate in 2024 and extended that relationship through 2028-29 in 2026. The young franchise made its first Kelly Cup Playoff appearance in 2025-26 while serving as the lower tier of Florida's development ladder.
