UCF Knights

The UCF Knights category covers University of Central Florida athletics at the NCAA Division I level. The program competes primarily in the Big 12 Conference. Florida Sports Blog tracks schedules, scores, recruiting, coaching changes, conference races, postseason play and major program developments across the school's men's and women's teams. UCF athletics grew alongside a university that opened in the late 1960s, with football beginning in 1979 and moving through Division III, Division II, FCS and FBS before reaching the modern power-conference level. The Knights completed an undefeated 2017 football season and later joined the Big 12 Conference in 2023. UCF has also built nationally competitive programs in soccer, track, basketball and other sports.
