Florida Gators
The Florida Gators category covers University of Florida athletics at the NCAA Division I level. The program competes primarily in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Florida Sports Blog tracks schedules, scores, recruiting, coaching changes, conference races, postseason play and major program developments across the school's men's and women's teams. Florida's varsity athletic tradition dates to the early 1900s, and the Gators became a charter member of the Southeastern Conference in 1932. UF has won national championships across numerous sports, including football titles in 1996, 2006 and 2008 and back-to-back men's basketball championships in 2006 and 2007. The program's broad championship history in baseball, gymnastics, track, swimming, tennis and other sports has made Florida one of the nation's leading all-sports departments.
