Eastern Florida State competed for decades as Brevard Community College before adopting its current name in 2013 as the institution expanded into bachelor's degrees. The Titans remained in the NJCAA despite the academic change and have developed nationally competitive programs in soccer, basketball, golf, tennis and other sports. The college's two-year athletic model has continued to serve as a transfer pathway to NCAA programs.
