Florida A&M Rattlers

The Florida A&M Rattlers category covers Florida A&M University athletics at the NCAA Division I level. The program competes primarily in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Florida Sports Blog tracks schedules, scores, recruiting, coaching changes, conference races, postseason play and major program developments across the school's men's and women's teams. Florida A&M's athletic tradition is one of the most important in HBCU sports, with Rattler football dating to 1907. FAMU won the inaugural NCAA Division I-AA football championship in 1978 and has claimed numerous Black college national championships and conference titles. The Rattlers moved from the MEAC to the SWAC in 2021 while maintaining the Florida Classic rivalry with Bethune-Cookman.
