Eckerd College women’s soccer fell to Stetson, 3-0, on Sept. 19 in DeLand, Fla. Stetson took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute before adding goals in the 48th and 52nd minutes. The loss came despite Eckerd’s 13-10 advantage in total shots and 10-1 edge in corner kicks.
Eckerd finished with eight shots on goal, while Stetson recorded nine. Lisa Fureh led the Eckerd College women’s soccer team with five shots, including three on goal. Kaitlyn Shell added two shots on goal.
Stetson extends lead after halftime
Eckerd applied pressure early and earned two corner kicks within the opening eight minutes. Shell and Fureh each put a shot on target before Stetson broke through in the 25th minute and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Sylvia MohrSting and Fureh forced saves inside the opening two minutes of the second half. Stetson then scored in the 48th and 52nd minutes to take a 3-0 lead. Kailani Casazza recorded a shot on goal 25 seconds after Stetson’s third goal.
Ashley Nelson nearly put Eckerd on the scoreboard in the 62nd minute when her attempt struck the left post. Shell followed with another shot on target, and Fureh forced a save in the 70th minute. Eckerd continued to create chances but did not score.
Fureh leads Eckerd attack
Fureh led Eckerd with five shots and three shots on goal. Shell finished with two shots on goal, while Madi Winn and Aubrey Cripe each made three saves in 45 minutes.
Stetson received two goals from Ava McKay and one from Amelia Majtczak. Stella Comana assisted on both of McKay’s goals, and Julianna Liguori assisted on Majtczak’s goal.

Eckerd College women’s soccer was scheduled to host Tampa on Sept. 23, 2026, at 7 p.m. The match is the Tritons’ next scheduled contest after the loss to Stetson.

Eckerd created more total shots and corner kicks than Stetson but could not turn that production into a goal. Stetson’s three goals, including two early in the second half, determined the result. Fureh led Eckerd’s attack with five shots, and the Tritons are scheduled to host Tampa next.
