University of Miami Athletics announced the Canes for South Florida initiative Aug. 13, offering eligible individuals exclusive ticket opportunities for select Miami Hurricanes home games in 2026 and beyond. The initiative recognizes the individuals and organizations that help serve and strengthen the South Florida community.
Eligible educators, healthcare workers, first responders, military personnel and government employees can submit their information using a school, employer, military or government email address. Registration is free for eligible individuals, and Miami Athletics will review and confirm eligibility.
Verified members will receive notifications when ticket or event opportunities become available. Ticket opportunities are subject to availability and may vary by game, and registration does not guarantee access to or availability of ticket offers.
Jesse Marks explains initiative’s purpose
University of Miami Chief Revenue Officer Jesse Marks said the program is designed to recognize people who contribute to the South Florida community.
“Canes for South Florida is about more than providing accessible access to Miami Hurricanes games and events, it’s about investing in the people who make South Florida our home,” Marks said. “Every day, educators, healthcare workers, first responders, military personnel and government employees show up for South Florida, and we want to show up for them.”
“As the home team, the Hurricanes have a responsibility to be deeply connected to the community we represent,” Marks said. “This program is one way we can say thank you, create more accessible opportunities to experience Miami Hurricanes Athletics events and strengthen the connection between the Miami Hurricanes and the South Florida community.”
