Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic category is Florida Sports Blog's home for Magic basketball, including games, injuries, roster moves, trades, free agency, the NBA Draft and postseason races. The Osceola Magic are nested beneath Orlando as the franchise's NBA G League affiliate, keeping development and call-up coverage within one organization. Orlando entered the NBA as an expansion franchise in 1989. Led by young stars Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway, the Magic reached their first NBA Finals in 1995, and a Dwight Howard-led team returned to the Finals in 2009. The franchise has remained Central Florida's major professional basketball anchor while developing several All-Star and Hall of Fame-caliber players.
