Emeka Egbuka, Josiah Trotter and Tez Johnson are the featured candidates in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Week Six Performance Preview ahead of the matchup with the visiting Steelers.

Buccaneers.com published the preview Oct. 16, 2026. The weekly competition involves Staff Writer/Reporter Brianna Dix, Buccaneers.com Contributor Gabriel Kahaian and Scott Smith, with each contributor selecting one Tampa Bay Buccaneers player expected to produce a strong performance.

Team Reporter Casey Phillips judges the selections after the game. The rules do not allow duplicate picks, and the selection order rotates from week to week, making Smith’s scheduled first selection an important part of the Week Six competition.

Buccaneers enter preview after Dallas victory

The preview follows the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 24-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys the previous week. Tampa Bay played well in all three phases, but none of the three contributors was judged the winner of the individual performance competition.

Dix selected Sean Tucker, Smith chose Calijah Kancey and Kahaian picked Ted Hurst for the previous contest. Tucker finished with 18 yards on five carries, Kancey recorded one tackle and one quarterback hit, and Hurst did not make a catch for the first time this season.

Phillips ruled the result a push. She also pointed to Jalon Daniels, Bucky Irving, Egbuka, Zyon McCollum and Jacob Parrish as examples of other possible standout choices from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ victory.

Standings remain part of Week Six storyline

Kahaian leads the competition with 2.5 points after the previous week. Smith has 1.0 point, Dix has 0.5 points and the standings include 1.0 point for pushes.

The three featured Tampa Bay Buccaneers candidates cover different areas of the roster. Egbuka is a wide receiver, Trotter is a linebacker, and Johnson is also included among the players under consideration for the Week Six performance spotlight.

FSB Take

The Week Six preview gives the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ next game an additional player-focused storyline while tracking the season-long competition among the Buccaneers.com contributors. Egbuka, Trotter and Johnson are the featured candidates, and Smith’s position at the front of the selection order adds another element to the contest. Phillips will evaluate the selections after Tampa Bay faces the visiting Steelers.
