Aidan Miller became the 10th Philadelphia Phillies prospect selected for the 2026 Arizona Fall League and will join the Surprise Saguaros when the season begins Saturday, October 3.

Miller made his 2026 season debut during a September rehab assignment with the Clearwater Threshers. He then went 7-for-24 in seven games with the Reading Fightin Phils, including three RBIs in four postseason games.

Miller started all four of Reading’s playoff games at third base and committed one error in 36.0 innings at the position during the championship run. He made all 215 of his regular-season fielding starts at shortstop in 2026 and has played more than 1,800 innings at shortstop during four years in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system.

Miller will continue work at third base

The Surprise Saguaros assignment is expected to give Miller more time at third base. His four postseason starts represented an important opportunity to gain competitive experience at the position after spending the regular season at shortstop.

Miller’s late-season work with Reading also followed his return to game action in Clearwater. The Arizona Fall League will provide another setting for him to continue his development while the Phillies evaluate his defensive flexibility.

Five Philadelphia Phillies pitchers join Miller

Keegan Batka, Ryan Dromboski, Estibenzon Jimenez, Jose Pena Jr. and Kevin Warunek will join Miller with the Surprise Saguaros. The group includes four right-handed pitchers and one left-handed pitcher.

Batka recorded five saves in five opportunities with the Clearwater Threshers and finished tied for seventh in the Florida State League. He also moved through Clearwater, the Jersey Shore BlueClaws and Reading during the 2026 season.

Dromboski compiled a 12-16 record and a 4.13 ERA over two minor league seasons and three levels. He pitched 9.0 innings over three starts for Reading in 2026 and will make his first Arizona Fall League appearance.

Jimenez went 5-0 and recorded seven saves in seven opportunities in 28 relief appearances for Reading in 2026. He also pitched in three of four Reading playoff games out of the bullpen.

Pena Jr. has not pitched since June 21, when he left a game after retiring both batters he faced in 0.2 scoreless innings. Before that, he allowed one run and struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings in six relief appearances during his final month of the 2026 season.

Warunek had rehab stints with the Clearwater Threshers in May and August 2026. He allowed two earned runs in 10.2 innings with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws and has compiled a 5-0 record with two saves in 43 relief appearances over the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

FSB Take

Miller is the most prominent name in the Philadelphia Phillies’ group because the Surprise Saguaros assignment will continue his return to game action and his work at third base. His four playoff starts at the position and one error in 36.0 innings give him a verified starting point for the fall.

The group also includes several players with Clearwater ties, including Batka, Pena Jr. and Warunek. The 2026 Arizona Fall League season begins October 3, giving Miller and the five pitchers a new opportunity to continue their development with the Surprise Saguaros.
