Jake Murray is the lone current Fort Myers Mighty Mussels player selected for the 2026 Arizona Fall League, according to rosters announced by Major League Baseball on Sept. 15. Murray will join seven other Minnesota Twins prospects on the Salt River Rafters. Eight recent Fort Myers players will be with Salt River, while Bruin Agbayani will play for the Surprise Saguaros.
Ross Dunn, Cesar Lares, Cleiber Maldonado, Brian Zeldin, Kyle DeBarge, Yasser Mercedes and Jacob McCombs will join Murray on the Salt River Rafters. The players appeared in a game for Fort Myers between 2024 and 2026. Salt River pitching coach Carter Kessinger is also part of the Minnesota Twins organization.
Eight Fort Myers players headed to Salt River
Murray appeared in 25 games for Fort Myers and compiled a 6.23 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 30.1 innings. He recorded the final out of Fort Myers’ no-hitter on May 26 by striking out Dunedin Blue Jays first baseman David Beckles. The Campbell product signed as an undrafted free agent last summer and ended the 2026 campaign on the seven-day injured list.
Dunn, a 10th-round selection by the Minnesota Twins in the 2023 draft, appeared in 19 games for Fort Myers in 2024 and posted a 6.46 ERA across 61.1 innings. He returned to a Fort Myers uniform during the summer on a rehab assignment from High-A Cedar Rapids. Lares finished the 2024 season with a 4.56 ERA in 19 starts and recorded 11 strikeouts in a game against the Dunedin Blue Jays before missing all of 2025 and half of 2026 with an injury.
Lares is currently with the Cedar Rapids Kernels, while Cleiber Maldonado is in High-A after missing all of 2025 and half of 2026 with an injury. Maldonado appeared in 10 games for Fort Myers in 2024 and posted a 2.70 ERA out of the bullpen. Brian Zeldin began the 2026 season with Fort Myers, where he recorded a 4.76 ERA in 11 games before being promoted to High-A.
Kyle DeBarge appeared in 26 games with Fort Myers in 2024 after being selected No. 33 overall in the 2024 draft. He advanced to Double-A Wichita in 2026 and has a career .690 OPS in 267 games. Yasser Mercedes is ranked as the Minnesota Twins’ No. 17 prospect after batting .321 with a 1.081 OPS in 21 games with Fort Myers in spring 2026.
Mercedes went 48-for-51 in stolen bases across 125 games with Fort Myers over parts of three years. Jacob McCombs, selected by the Minnesota Twins in the seventh round of the 2025 draft, appeared in eight games with Fort Myers later that summer. McCombs appeared in 67 games with Cedar Rapids in 2026.
Bruin Agbayani headed to Surprise
Bruin Agbayani will play for the Surprise Saguaros after appearing in 15 games with Fort Myers following his selection in the sixth round of the 2025 draft. The former Minnesota Twins top-30 prospect scored five runs in a game for Fort Myers on May 30, a team all-time record. Agbayani was traded to the New York Mets as part of the A.J. Minter deal on July 31.
The Salt River Rafters roster includes prospects from the Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees and Washington Nationals. The Arizona Fall League season begins Saturday, Oct. 3, with the Salt River Rafters visiting the Glendale Desert Dogs at 12:30 p.m. MST in the opening game. The 2026 Arizona Fall League rosters are the initial lists announced by Major League Baseball.
