Ash adds a record to the victory
The senior kicker’s 55-yard conversion was highlighted by Ponte Vedra’s football program and High School On SI. Ponte Vedra improved to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in District 2-5A following the win. The school’s game report also credited Alex Winkles with four touchdowns and Mike Akers with two fourth-quarter sacks.
The final score is recorded on Ponte Vedra’s MaxPreps team page. Ash’s kick provided three points in a game that finished within two scores. The verified reports establish the record distance without requiring speculation about the kick’s trajectory or game situation.
Special teams make a difference
A reliable long-range kicker can change a coach’s options near the edge of scoring territory. Ash’s record provides a clear example of that potential. Future opportunities will still depend on field position, conditions and the game situation.
FSB Take
Ponte Vedra’s win deserves attention for more than its final score. A school-record field goal is a major individual accomplishment, and the late defensive plays reported by the program show the result required contributions across the roster. The Sharks now need to build on that complete-team effort during the closing stretch.
