The Florida Everblades acquired forward Robert Orr from the Trois-Rivieres Lions in exchange for future considerations, the team announced. The 23-year-old left-shot forward is beginning his professional career after completing his college career with the University of Prince Edward Island.
Orr recorded 17 goals and 14 assists in 30 games during his final college season. The Montreal native now joins the Florida Everblades as he moves into professional hockey.
Orr played junior hockey in Quebec
Before playing at the University of Prince Edward Island, Orr competed in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He played for the Halifax Mooseheads, Gatineau Olympique and Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
The Carolina Hurricanes selected Orr in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. His acquisition gives the Florida Everblades a forward with experience in college and junior hockey, although he is entering his first professional season.
