Christa Teno will begin her 20th season leading Seminole State College women’s golf as the Raiders pursue a return to the NJCAA national championship after finishing third nationally in 2025-26.

Seminole State College has won five national championships since 2015, including four consecutive titles in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The Raiders compete in NJCAA Division I and represent Region VIII in women’s golf.

Seminole State built momentum in 2025-26

The Raiders opened the 2025-26 season with a runner-up finish at the SSC Fall Warm-Up at Rio Pinar Golf Club. Seminole State spent much of the spring ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA Division I rankings before entering the postseason.

Seminole State won the FCSAA/NJCAA Southeast District Championship at Mystic Dunes Golf Club by 11 strokes. The victory earned the Raiders an automatic berth in the NJCAA National Championship.

At the national championship in Coal Valley, Illinois, Seminole State posted the tournament’s best team score in the final round and moved from fifth place to third. The Raiders finished ahead of Weatherford College and behind Daytona State and Odessa College. Darcie West tied for sixth place individually.

Returning players lead the roster

West returns as a sophomore along with Megan Fallon and Kate Yarem. The three players return after their freshman seasons and give Teno a group with experience from Seminole State’s third-place national finish.

The 2026-27 freshman class includes Saskia Owen, Lili-Rose Hunt, Rio Nakama and Meyher Khoklar. Owen is described as a proven winner, while Hunt brings consistency and precision. Nakama adds energy and competitiveness, and Khoklar brings an aggressive style of play.

Fall schedule includes Florida events

Seminole State is expected to open the fall by hosting the SSC Fall Warm-Up at Rio Pinar. The Raiders’ schedule also includes Wofford’s Terrier Intercollegiate, the Saint Leo Invitational and Florida International University’s Pat Bradley Invitational.

Daytona State is identified as a Region VIII rival for Seminole State in NJCAA women’s golf. The fall schedule will give the Raiders an early opportunity to build toward another postseason run.

FSB Take

Seminole State College women’s golf enters 2026-27 with a returning sophomore trio, four freshmen and a coach beginning her 20th season. West’s individual sixth-place finish and the Raiders’ third-place national result provide a clear foundation, while the fall schedule begins in Sanford at Rio Pinar. The program’s next step is a return to the NJCAA national championship after another strong season in 2025-26.
