The UCF volleyball team will host Stetson and Virginia this week at The Venue in Orlando for two home non-conference matches.

UCF will play Stetson Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. before facing Virginia Saturday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. The Stetson match will be the 74th all-time meeting between the programs.

UCF volleyball team returns home after Wake Forest Invitational

UCF took two of three matches at the Wake Forest Invitational, defeating Georgetown and Davidson while losing to Wake Forest. Sasha Cohen earned tournament MVP honors, and Ella Chapman was named to the All-Tournament team after scoring a career-high 13.5 points against Davidson. The results put the team back at The Venue for its two upcoming matches.

UCF is 9-1 in home non-conference matches under head coach Matt Botsford. The team leads the Big 12 Conference in hitting percentage at .337 and team kills with 309. Avah Armour earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors after averaging 5.4 kills and 6.4 points per set after the opening weekend.

Cohen was named to the Big 12 Starting Seven after averaging 2.3 blocks per set with a .462 hitting percentage. Alexa Haley leads the Big 12 with 4.5 digs per set and 99 total digs. Abby Schomers ranks fifth in the conference with 12.82 assists per set after surpassing 3,000 career assists against NC State on Aug. 30, 2026, while Armour surpassed 1,000 career kills in the same match.

Stetson, Virginia bring strong numbers into matches

Stetson has won its last three matches after losing its first two matches of the season. The team ranks 69th nationally in blocks per set at 2.47 and 23rd nationally in digs per set at 15.79. Stetson has also limited opponents to a .180 hitting percentage, while Sofia Torcello and Kayla Balfour each average more than one block per set.

Virginia has won three consecutive matches after losing its season opener to American. The Cavaliers rank 51st nationally and seventh in the ACC with 13.53 kills per set, and they rank 67th nationally in hitting percentage at .250. Reese Wuebker leads Virginia with 3.27 kills per set, while Olivia Siskin and Hannah Scott average 5.20 and 5.07 assists per set, respectively.

UCF assistant coach Trevor Kennan was on Virginia’s staff from 2022-24. Single-match and season tickets are on sale through UCF.
