The Jupiter Hammerheads defeated the St. Lucie Mets 3-2 on Aug. 11, 2026, in the series opener at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Jupiter took the lead on Yoffry Solano’s two-run home run in the eighth inning before Walin Castillo retired the side in the ninth to close out the victory.

Elian Peña went 3 for 5 with two home runs and a single for the St. Lucie Mets. He hit a leadoff home run against Victor Rodriguez in the first inning and another leadoff homer against Tyler Stevens in the fifth to give St. Lucie a 2-0 lead. The second home run was Peña’s seventh of the season, and he extended his hitting streak to 12 games, tying the longest streak for the Mets this season.

Jupiter answered in the bottom of the fifth inning when Victor Ortega hit a leadoff double and later scored on Josh Hogue’s sacrifice fly. The Hammerheads completed the comeback in the eighth after Hogue walked to begin the inning. Solano followed with his first home run of the season, a two-run shot that put Jupiter ahead 3-2.

Conner Ware was charged with three runs on three hits over five innings for the St. Lucie Mets. He walked one and struck out four. Will Watson made his second Minor League Baseball rehabilitation appearance and pitched two scoreless innings, while Candido Cuevas recorded three strikeouts in the third inning.

Castillo returned from the seven-day injured list and pitched the final three innings for the Jupiter Hammerheads to earn the win. Eli Serrano III began a Minor League Baseball rehabilitation assignment and went 2 for 3 with two singles and a walk. Ryan Tayman reached base in all four plate appearances, going 3 for 3 with three singles and a hit by pitch.

The St. Lucie Mets entered the game with a 16-26 second-half record and a 49-59 overall record. The Jupiter Hammerheads entered at 17-25 in the second half and 54-54 overall. The teams will play the second game of the series at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
