Rollins College Women’s Golf finished fourth among 15 teams at Boston College’s Red Bandanna Invitational, which was played Monday and Tuesday at Blue Hill Country Club. The result marked the start of the Krissy Carman era, with Rollins posting a team total of 923. Rollins was the only Division II team in the field.

“I am truly honored to lead this program,” Carman said. “We had alumni out to support the team and many more reach out over the past week. The community surrounding Rollins Women’s Golf is unmatched, and I look forward to carrying on that legacy and leading these ladies.”

Youyang Li Leads Rollins

Youyang Li led Rollins in each of the first two rounds with matching scores of 74. She closed with a 76 to tie for sixth overall at 224, which was 8-over par. Li was an All-American as a freshman last year.

Addy Vogt opened with a 75 and shot 82 in the second round before finishing tied for 31st at 236, or 20-over par. Alisha Rametra and Sarah Knitter tied for 19th with identical totals of 233. Rametra recorded rounds of 77, 80 and 76, while Knitter shot 78, 80 and 75.

Rollins Closes With Best Team Round

Rollins posted its best team score of the tournament in the final round, shooting 15-over par. Knitter led the team with a 75 that included three birdies, while Li, Rametra and Kaitlyn Hummers each shot 76. The scores gave Rollins a 303 for the round.

“I am very proud of these ladies,” Carman said. “I’m extremely pleased with their performance, especially given the field, windy conditions, and the fact that most of them were under the weather. The chemistry is great, and I am very proud of how they support each other.”

Host Boston College won the tournament with an 882. Seattle finished second with a 907, and Yale placed third with a 911. Rollins’ 923 placed the program fourth in the 15-team field.

Carman Points to Short Game Before NCAA Preview

Carman said Rollins will focus on improving its short game and reducing compounding errors. The team is looking ahead to the NCAA Preview after taking a step forward in the final round.

“I look forward to us improving our short game and cleaning up the compounding errors,” Carman said. “The team took a step in the right direction today, but we will keep working on cleaning things up as we look ahead to the NCAA Preview.”

FSB Take

Rollins College Women’s Golf opened the Krissy Carman era with a fourth-place finish against a 15-team field. Li’s tie for sixth and Rollins’ 303 in the final round highlighted the tournament, while the team total of 923 established the program’s opening benchmark under its new head coach. The NCAA Preview will be the next opportunity for Rollins to address the short-game improvements Carman identified.
