Miami Dolphins G/T Kadyn Proctor said the team must build on its run-game progress and correct mistakes after opening the season 0-2. Proctor spoke with reporters after the Miami Dolphins’ game on Sept. 21, 2026, discussing the offensive line’s film review, the offense’s potential and the team’s first home game of the season.
Proctor identified oversets as a key correction for the offensive line after reviewing film. He said the issue could become more important as opposing teams collect more information, particularly because of his role as an interior offensive lineman. “Really just interiorly, just fixing the oversets, that’s what teams are going to see and it’s going to get harder as teams start having film on you,” Proctor said.
The Miami Dolphins also improved their run game from the first game to the second. Proctor attributed that progress to preparation during the week and communication about the team’s emphasis rather than major changes to the approach. He said the group focused on playing fast and freely while building on the work completed in preparation.
Proctor said the offense still has substantial room to grow despite the 0-2 start. He pointed to the team’s preparation and said the players must focus on their assignments and responsibilities. “The ceiling is very high is what I see from how hard these guys work, how hard we put it in,” Proctor said.
Proctor discusses Trent Williams jersey exchange
Proctor also described his postgame interaction with Trent Williams. He said he approached Williams after thinking about two or three plays he wanted back, and Williams told him that he also has plays like those in his 17th year.
“Everybody makes mistakes and that’s just the game of football,” Proctor said. He added that he has watched Williams since elementary school and considered the exchange a special moment. “We did, yes. He sent me one. I sent one of mine over there, so that was very special too,” Proctor said.
Miami Dolphins prepare for first home game
The Miami Dolphins are scheduled to play at home Sunday for the first time this season. Proctor did not identify the opponent or provide a specific date beyond referring to Sunday, but he said he expects the occasion to be meaningful for the team and its fans.
“I feel like it’s going to be a very special moment, playing at home for the first time, season opener,” Proctor said. He asked fans to come out, get loud and create a strong environment for the game.
FSB Take
Proctor’s comments establish two immediate priorities for the Miami Dolphins: preserve the run-game improvement and correct the offensive line’s oversets. The 0-2 start makes the team’s preparation and response more important, while Proctor said the offense believes it has a high ceiling. The first home game will be the next setting for the team to apply those corrections.
