Florida State women’s golf is ranked No. 16 in the country in the first Women’s Golf Coaches Association Coaches Poll of the 2026 fall season. The Women’s Golf Coaches Association announced the ranking Friday, Sept. 25. Florida State has compiled a 25-6 record through three tournaments, including a team championship, a top-three finish and a victory over the nation’s preseason No. 1 team.
Florida State opened the season by winning the Folds of Honor Collegiate. The team overcame a seven-shot deficit entering the final round, shot a five-under 283 and finished at three-under 861 to defeat Texas A&M. The championship was Florida State’s first team title at the event.
Florida State delivers strong fall results
Florida State co-hosts the Folds of Honor Collegiate with Michigan State and has participated in the event for three consecutive seasons. The victory also marked Florida State’s first season-opening event title since the 2016 Schooner Fall Classic. The result established an early highlight for Florida State’s three-tournament fall start.
Florida State finished fifth at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup and narrowly missed advancing to match play. During the event’s three-round stroke-play portion, Florida State defeated Stanford, the preseason No. 1 team and defending national champion. That victory gave Florida State a win over the nation’s top preseason team.
Florida State then finished third in the 16-team Schooner Fall Classic field. The team shot 11-under 829 for the tournament and moved up one spot on the final day. The result gave Florida State the top-three finish cited in its 25-6 record through three tournaments.
Florida State women’s golf returns Oct. 23

The event will be Florida State’s next competition after the team received its No. 16 position in the first WGCA Coaches Poll of the 2026 fall season. The schedule provides the team’s next opportunity to build on its early results.
