Miami Dolphins quarterback Cam Miller said his confidence and understanding of football have improved as roster cuts approach. Miller discussed his performance, development and the challenge of facing experienced competition during a postgame media availability on Aug. 28, 2026.
Miller described his performance as a mix of good and bad moments, including missed opportunities. He also said he stayed in the game, showed toughness and demonstrated a willingness to do whatever it took to win.
“I felt like I showed my toughness and my willingness to do whatever it takes to win,” Miller said.
Miller discusses competition and Chris Bell’s return
Miller said facing opposing players who could be starters or experienced NFL players provided a challenge that cannot be fully replicated in practice. He said the competition could improve his mental toughness and make the players around him tougher.
“You can’t simulate a game, and being out there going against great competition only makes you better,” Miller said.
Miller also discussed Chris Bell, who had been practicing for a while before returning to action. Miller said Bell’s presence gave him comfort and confidence, and he noted Bell’s big-play ability.
“I thought he did a great job. It was great to have him back out,” Miller said.
Quarterback development continues
Miller said his biggest area of progress from the previous week was greater confidence in his ability to perform against strong competition. He added that the positive plays gave him something to build on for his next experience.
Miller credited Bobby Slowik with teaching the quarterbacks about defenses and running his system. Miller said his knowledge of the game and his ability to see the field have improved since arriving in South Florida.
“I think Bobby Slowik has done such a great job of teaching the quarterbacks defense and running his system,” Miller said.
With roster cuts approaching, Miller said players could feel anxious but emphasized the work done throughout the locker room. He said the players arrived early, stayed late and gave themselves a chance before leaving the outcome to others.
“And now it’s in God’s hands,” Miller said.
