The Miami Dolphins held a Jason Jenkins Days of Service event Oct. 14 at Global Empowerment Mission in Doral, Florida. The Family Necessity Kit Assembly, sponsored by Northbridge University, brought together 142 volunteers across morning and afternoon shifts. Volunteers sorted donations and packed care kits for families impacted by natural disasters.
Volunteers sorted 4,000 pounds of hygiene items and assembled 7,000 hygiene kits supporting approximately 14,000 people. They also sorted 3,500 pounds of community-donated food and packed 414 family necessity kits. Those kits were intended to aid approximately 1,000 additional people.
Miami Dolphins inside linebacker Jordyn Brooks and running back Ollie Gordon II joined volunteers during the morning shift. Brooks said serving remains important whenever the team has time away from its regular responsibilities. He said, “Whenever we can get the time off to serve, I think it’s necessary to do in any way that we can.”
Miami Dolphins return to Global Empowerment Mission
The Oct. 14 project was the Miami Dolphins’ second visit to Global Empowerment Mission in October 2026. The team began the month with a Jason Jenkins Days of Service kickoff event at the organization on Oct. 1. More than 100 volunteers sorted 29,000 pounds of aid and created 600 family necessity kits during that event.
The project was part of Football UNITES Jason Jenkins Days of Service, a month-long initiative honoring the life, leadership and legacy of Jason Jenkins. Jenkins was the late Miami Dolphins senior vice president of communications and community affairs. The Miami Dolphins hold the initiative each October to continue Jenkins’ service mission.
