The Jacksonville Jaguars marked Hispanic Heritage Month with youth football camps, a literacy event, Latino Youth Honors recognition and support for a Duval County Public Schools essay contest.
The Jaguars began the initiative Sept. 15 with the first of two Somos DUUUVAL Youth Football Camps, presented by Ticketmaster. Joey Aguilar, Trebor Peña and Chris Rodriguez Jr., each of Hispanic heritage, surprised students from BridgePrep Academy with the camp.
Peña and Michael Wortham participated in the second camp Sept. 22 with students from Englewood Elementary School. Students at both schools received T-shirts and Jaguars swag, while Ticketmaster provided an equipment donation to each school.

Also on Sept. 22, Aguilar visited the Global Leadership Academy Discovery Campus for a Somos DUUUVAL-themed Literacy Locker Room in collaboration with Whataburger and READ USA. Jaxson de Ville and members of THE ROAR also attended the event.
Aguilar read to kindergarten through second-grade students and spoke about the importance of reading. Students received books for their at-home libraries, Jaguars swag and a free meal from Whataburger.
Jaguars recognize 2026 Latino Youth Honors nominees
During the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Sept. 27 game against the New England Patriots, the team recognized its 2026 Latino Youth Honors nominees, Lorena Clutter of The Bolles School and Enrique Ordoñez of Nease High School. The Jaguars selected both students for their contributions in athletics, leadership, academics and service.
Clutter is a senior flag football wide receiver and linebacker at The Bolles School. She participates in the school’s Latino community club, BLUE, competed in a statewide Spanish competition in Orlando and organizes an annual clothing drive with her sister to send clothes to Peru and the Dominican Republic.
BLUE works to raise awareness of poverty in third-world Hispanic countries. Clutter and Ordoñez will be considered by the NFL for the overall Latino Youth Honors awards, which include 64 nominees from all NFL clubs: 32 males and 32 females.
Ordoñez is a senior running back at Nease High School and the son of Mexican immigrants. He represents his Latino culture as a student-athlete and young leader in North Florida.
Essay contest recognizes Duval County students
The Jaguars Foundation supported the annual Duval County Public Schools Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest. Students had the opportunity to submit essays about an influential Hispanic person making an impact in the community.
Aoife Lewis won the elementary school contest, Shannialia Perez Montero won the middle school contest and Nicole Jiang won the high school contest. All three winners were recognized Oct. 2 and received Jaguars swag and custom jerseys.
FSB Take
The Jacksonville Jaguars connected Hispanic Heritage Month programming with football participation, reading and student recognition. The Jaguars’ local efforts included schools in Jacksonville, recognition for two North Florida student-athletes and support for Duval County Public Schools’ essay contest.
Clutter and Ordoñez will now be considered by the NFL for the overall 2026 Latino Youth Honors awards, giving the Jaguars’ nominees a place among the 64 students recognized across the league.
