Nova Southeastern University Men’s Basketball will open the 2026-27 regular season in Huntsville, Ala., before beginning Sunshine State Conference play at home against Florida Tech. Head coach Jim Crutchfield announced the schedule Sept. 9.
The Sharks will face Montevallo in a neutral-site contest at the GSC/SSC crossover on Nov. 13. Nova Southeastern University then plays Alabama-Huntsville on Nov. 14 in Huntsville, with the game marking the program’s first appearance at SportsMED Arena.
Nova Southeastern University has faced Alabama-Huntsville seven times in the last four seasons and is 7-0 against the Chargers in that span. Four of those meetings took place at Rick Case Arena.
Nova Southeastern brings home winning streak into opener
The Sharks begin their Sunshine State Conference and home schedules against Florida Tech on Nov. 21 at Rick Case Arena. Nova Southeastern University enters the season with a 106-game home winning streak and has not lost inside Rick Case Arena since Feb. 15, 2020, against then-No. 6 Florida Southern.
Nova Southeastern University has 12 regular-season opportunities to move closer to the NCAA record of 129 consecutive home victories achieved by the University of Kentucky. The Sharks have won the last five Sunshine State Conference tournaments and NCAA South Region Tournaments.
Florida Memorial and South Florida Bible College visit on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25, respectively. Palm Beach Atlantic returns to Rick Case Arena on Dec. 5, its first visit to Fort Lauderdale since Ross Reeves hit a half-court buzzer-beater that sent the 2026 Sunshine State Conference Championship game to overtime.
Jim Crutchfield returns to West Liberty
Nova Southeastern University will play Point Park on West Liberty’s court in West Liberty, W. Va., on Dec. 18. The Sharks face West Liberty at the same location on Dec. 19.
Nova Southeastern University and West Liberty met in the 2023 NCAA National Championship Game, which Nova Southeastern University won 111-101. Crutchfield spent his first 13 years as a head coach at West Liberty and began there as an assistant in 1989.
“It hasn’t been easy to get games at home in recent years,” Crutchfield said. “So, we’re going on the road to take on perennial national powers West Liberty and Alabama Huntsville.”
