Florida International University men’s football kicker Robert Czeremcha earned Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week honors on Oct. 12, 2026, after a record-tying performance against New Mexico State. Czeremcha made five field goals and one extra point in FIU’s 22-3 victory, accounting for 16 of the team’s 22 points. The award recognized his performance in FIU’s VICE Night win.
Czeremcha connected from 52, 48, 40, 33 and 21 yards. The five field goals were FIU’s most in a game since 2008 and tied the Florida International University school record for most made field goals in a single game. The total also ranked as the second-most field goals made in one game in Conference USA history.
Czeremcha reaches historic marks
The 52-yard field goal was the second-longest made field goal in Florida International University program history. It finished one yard short of the program record of 53 yards. Czeremcha also surpassed his previous career high of 39 yards three times during the game.
Czeremcha became FIU’s first Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week winner since Lexington Joseph received the honor on Sept. 20, 2020, against Liberty. He was FIU’s fifth weekly award winner of the season at the time of the announcement. FIU was the only Conference USA program to have won all five weekly awards.
FSB Take
Czeremcha’s five-field-goal performance gave Florida International University a record-tying individual achievement and a decisive scoring contribution in the win over New Mexico State. His field goals covered five distances, including a 52-yarder that came within one yard of the program record. The Conference USA honor reflects the significance of that performance for FIU football.
