Embry-Riddle finished fourth in the 38-team UAH Chargers Invitational on Oct. 24 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The Eagles posted a total team time of 1:48:29 in the women’s 6K, breaking the previous program record of 1:50:46 set in 2023 by more than two minutes. Embry-Riddle placed six runners in the top 100, including two in the top 10.
The field included No. 10 Lee, No. 23 Cedarville, No. 24 Tampa and No. 29 Catawba. Embry-Riddle finished ahead of one team ranked in the USTFCCCA top 25. The performance established a new team benchmark for the Eagles before the Sunshine State Conference Championship.
Tubbs, Roth lead record-setting effort
Emily Tubbs set a personal best and the Embry-Riddle program 6K record by finishing sixth in 21:02.5. Taylor Roth placed 10th in 21:06.4, also recording a personal best. Roth’s time broke the previous program record of 21:18.7 set by Sarah Edens in 2018 and became the second-fastest 6K time in program history.
Charlotte O’Brien finished 33rd in 21:47.7 and recorded a personal best in the meet results. Izzy Villarreal placed 48th in 22:07.7 and also posted a personal best. Madison Johnson was 75th in 22:24.3, while Cristina Soto finished 81st in 22:32.3.
Leanna Rogers finished 103rd in 22:47.2 and recorded a personal best. Allegra Triner placed 160th in 23:23.0, and Reese Murphy finished 167th in 23:26.9; both recorded personal bests. Taylor Mooney finished 239th in 24:22.9, followed by Vanicia Thomas in 248th at 24:28.0.
Jaya Conmy placed 261st in 24:36.1, and Graci Flaherty finished 266th in 24:46.2. The results gave Embry-Riddle multiple personal-best performances in addition to the team and individual program records. Tubbs and Roth supplied the two top-10 finishes that anchored the fourth-place result.
Rosolino points to postseason confidence
Embry-Riddle head coach Mike Rosolino said the women’s performance showed the team had brought its preparation together. “The women had an amazing race and for the first time all year really put it all together. I knew we had the possibility to be the best women’s team ever in school history and today they proved it by shattering our school record team time by 2 minutes! This team is working so hard and today that work paid off in a big way. All Around amazing race and great confidence builder as we move to the post-season,” Rosolino said.
Embry-Riddle’s next scheduled competition is the Sunshine State Conference Championship on Nov. 7 at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida. The Eagles will enter that meet after breaking their team 6K record in Huntsville. Tubbs’ program-leading mark and Roth’s second-fastest time in program history also give the team two record-setting individual performances to carry into the championship.
FSB Take
Embry-Riddle’s result was built on both record-setting leaders and depth across the lineup. Six runners finished in the top 100, while Tubbs and Roth produced the meet’s two top-10 finishes and several Eagles recorded personal bests. That combination gives the Eagles a measurable performance marker as they move to the Sunshine State Conference Championship in Lakeland.
