Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics announced Sept. 11, 2026, that it has partnered with FanWord to bring FanWord Assist to the Embry-Riddle Eagles’ external communications team. The multi-year agreement is intended to support the athletics communications operation in Daytona Beach, Fla. FanWord Assist is designed to help the department produce timely and accurate content that reflects the school’s voice and brand.

The platform supports digital content such as game recaps, player bios, feature stories, award nominations and transcriptions. Embry-Riddle Athletics will use the technology to support coverage of its student-athletes and athletic programs. FanWord says it works with more than 240 athletics organizations across all levels.

Clayton Barefield cites workflow support

Clayton Barefield, the director of athletics communications at Embry-Riddle, said FanWord Assist will help streamline the department’s workflows. “We’re excited to partner with FanWord to assist in streamlining our workflows,” Barefield said. “This platform will allow us to produce and publish our communication more efficiently while continuing to showcase the excellence of our student-athletes and programs here at Embry-Riddle.”

Embry-Riddle joins Florida Southern and Palm Beach Atlantic among Sunshine State Conference schools using FanWord Assist. Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson and Florida State also use the platform, according to the announcement. The agreement calls for Embry-Riddle and FanWord to work together on support for the Eagles’ communications operation, from everyday coverage to deeper storytelling initiatives across the department.

Chris Aumueller, CEO of FanWord, said the company welcomed Embry-Riddle to its platform. “We’re thrilled to welcome Embry-Riddle to FanWord,” Aumueller said. “The Eagles have a reputation of excellence, and we’re looking forward to working alongside their communications team and giving them another resource to showcase their student-athletes, coaches and programs.”
