Redshirt junior forward Drew Hansen was named the Sun Belt Conference week 10 Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27 after scoring two goals for the UCF men’s soccer team against No. 18 South Carolina. The honor is Hansen’s second consecutive Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week selection and his second career Sun Belt weekly award. He is the first player in UCF’s Sun Belt era to earn back-to-back weekly honors.
Hansen scored in the 13th minute with an assist from Joachim Kyei before adding the game-winning goal in the 71st minute. The performance was Hansen’s third multi-goal contest of the season and the fourth of his career. His second goal also gave him three game-winning goals this season and four career goals against ranked opponents.
Hansen adds to UCF award history
The selection was UCF’s 11th overall weekly conference award since the program joined the Sun Belt in 2023. Hansen’s honor was the program’s fifth Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week selection during that span. His nine goals through UCF’s first 14 matches represent a single-season career best.
UCF men’s soccer was scheduled to host the Georgia State Panthers on Oct. 29 in its 2026 regular-season home finale. The match was set for 7 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex and was scheduled to stream on ESPN+.
FSB Take
Hansen’s consecutive awards give UCF its first back-to-back Sun Belt weekly honoree while adding to the program’s growing conference award total. His nine goals through 14 matches and three game-winning goals provide UCF with a proven scoring presence entering the regular-season home finale. The Georgia State match was the next scheduled opportunity for the forward to build on that production.
