Daniel Perez-Rouzan and Quentin Heady of Bethune-Cookman University men’s basketball earned Preseason All-Southwestern Athletic Conference recognition, the conference announced Oct. 6 from its headquarters in Birmingham. Perez-Rouzan was named to the first team, while Heady received second-team honors. The Wildcats are coming off a SWAC regular-season championship.
Perez-Rouzan is returning to Bethune-Cookman for his third season after consecutive All-SWAC Second Team selections. The graduate student from Las Vegas, Nevada, averaged 11.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game during the 2025-26 season. He also finished second on the team in offensive rebounds and total rebounds and third in blocks.
Daniel Perez-Rouzan earns first-team selection
Perez-Rouzan recorded two double-doubles during the 2025-26 season. He posted 25 points and 13 rebounds against Jackson State and scored 24 points against Alcorn State. His first-team preseason honor follows two consecutive All-SWAC Second Team selections.
Quentin Heady receives second-team recognition
Heady averaged 10.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game last season. The junior forward from Chicago ranked second on the Wildcats with 124 free-throw attempts and recorded 33 steals and 15 blocks. Heady also produced 17 points and eight rebounds against Southern and 17 points with five rebounds against Prairie View A&M in SWAC play.
The recognition gives Bethune-Cookman University men’s basketball two returning players on the preseason teams. Perez-Rouzan brings his prior All-SWAC selections and production on the interior, while Heady returns after contributing as a scorer and defender. The Wildcats will look to build on last season’s regular-season championship.
The 2026-27 season could produce the first NCAA Tournament appearance in Bethune-Cookman men’s basketball program history. Perez-Rouzan and Heady are among the returning players recognized before the season as the Wildcats pursue that opportunity.
