Fort Lauderdale United FC Returns Home
Fort Lauderdale United FC is coming off losses to two top-four teams but delivered a strong performance in the Florida Derby before a delay in the 63rd minute. The club will not return home until Oct. 11, according to the source. That gives the match against Dallas added importance as Fort Lauderdale prepares for back-to-back road matches.
Sh’nia Gordon leads the Fort Lauderdale attack and is one of 13 players in the league with both a goal and an assist this season. Kiara Locklear, Farrah Walters and Grace Cutler are also part of the club’s attack, while All-League Second Team honoree Kelli Van Treeck and Nicole Vernis are featured in the midfield. Captain Haley Thomas anchors the back line.
Defenders Ella Simpson and Kelsey Oyler have also made strong starts to the campaign. Simpson is tied for the league lead in clearances with 26, while Oyler leads the league in tackles won with 12. Fort Lauderdale is seeking to turn that production into a second victory.
Dallas Trinity FC Brings Two-Match Winning Streak
Dallas Trinity FC has won consecutive matches after going winless through its first three matches. Jasmine Hamid, a former Fort Lauderdale United FC forward, ranks second in the league with three goals. Onyeka Gamero and Seven Castain have each recorded two goals.
Camryn Lancaster is tied for the league lead with two assists, while Team of the Month honoree Sofia Cedeno anchors the midfield. Dallas is seeking a third consecutive win against a Fort Lauderdale side playing its first home match in three weeks. The clubs met three times during the 2025/26 campaign, with Fort Lauderdale winning the first meeting at home before Dallas won the final two.
