Madeline Oliver earned Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sept. 13, 2026, Florida International University Athletics announced Sept. 15. The FIU Women’s Soccer defender received the first weekly award of her career after helping the defense go without allowing a goal or a shot on goal during two matches. FIU allowed 13 total shot attempts across the two contests.
Oliver played 90 minutes in both matches and also made an impact in the attack at Stetson. She scored in the 11th minute of FIU’s 3-0 victory, recording her second goal of the 2026 season and the first game-winning goal of her career. Oliver is the first FIU player to earn Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week since Reagan Bridges in 2024. She is also the second FIU player to receive a Conference USA weekly award this season, joining Maya Maxwell, who earned Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Aug. 30.
FIU Women’s Soccer will begin Conference USA play at New Mexico State on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. ET.
