Cam Cannarella reached base four times, but the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp lost 10-5 to the Norfolk Tides on Sept. 4, 2026, at Harbor Park. Jacksonville committed six errors in the International League game. The Jumbo Shrimp held a 5-4 lead before Norfolk scored twice in the seventh inning and four runs in the eighth.
Rece Hinds opened Norfolk’s seventh-inning rally with a single, and a two-base error put a runner at third. Creed Willems tied the game with a sacrifice fly against Amos Willingham, who took the loss and fell to 1-4. José Barrero then walked, stole second and scored the go-ahead run after another error.
The Tides added four runs in the eighth inning. Enrique Bradfield Jr. walked and Jeremiah Jackson was hit by a pitch before Hinds delivered an RBI single. Willems followed with an RBI single, and an error allowed two runs to score before Eeles added an RBI base hit.
Jacksonville Builds Early Lead
Jacksonville scored twice in the third inning. Cannarella singled and Brandon Compton walked before Juan Matheus hit an RBI double for the game’s first run, and Matthew Etzel followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
Logan Driscoll led off the fourth inning with a home run. Johnny Olmstead later scored on a Cannarella base hit to extend Jacksonville’s lead to 4-0.
Norfolk scored its first run in the bottom of the fourth on a double play. Brandon Butterworth scored in the fifth inning on a fielder’s choice and error, cutting Jacksonville’s lead to 4-2.
Olmstead hit a home run to lead off the sixth inning, but Norfolk answered with three runs. Eeles reached after being hit by a pitch, then scored following a Luis Vazquez single and an error. After another error, Silas Ardoin hit an RBI double to pull Norfolk within one run.
Jacksonville entered the game with a 67-67 overall record and a 25-35 record in league play. Norfolk entered at 52-81 overall and 24-34 in league play. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins and won the 2025 International League and Triple-A National Championships.
