Victor Scott II walked against Jacksonville pitcher Bradley Blalock, who entered with a 3-9 record, and stole second base. Colton Ledbetter followed with an RBI single to tie the game, and César Prieto gave Memphis a 3-2 lead with a go-ahead RBI double. Memphis added its fourth run in the seventh inning. Scott II singled to begin the inning and advanced to second on a passed ball. After a strikeout, Ramon Urías delivered an RBI single to complete the scoring at 4-2.
Jacksonville Takes Early Lead
The Jumbo Shrimp scored first in the second inning. Jonathon Long drew a leadoff walk against Memphis pitcher Brandt Thompson, who entered with a 3-1 record, and advanced to second on Brayden Taylor’s base hit. Bennett Hostetler then drove in Long with an RBI single.
Deyvison De Los Santos doubled with one out in the third inning, and Matthew Etzel followed with an RBI single to give Jacksonville a 2-0 lead. Memphis answered in the bottom half of the inning when Brody Moore led off with a double and scored on a steal of third coupled with an error. De Los Santos finished 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
Saturday Game Scheduled
Jacksonville is scheduled to seek a series win Saturday at 7:35 p.m. ET against the Memphis Redbirds. Right-handed pitcher Karson Milbrandt is scheduled to start for the Jumbo Shrimp against Memphis left-handed pitcher Cooper Hjerpe. Milbrandt is listed at 0-5 with a 7.65 ERA, while Hjerpe is listed at 0-0 with a 0.79 ERA.
Coverage is scheduled to begin at 7:20 p.m. ET on ESPN 690AM and ESPN690.com. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins and compete in the International League. The team plays its home games at VyStar Ballpark and was identified as the 2025 International League and Triple-A National Champions.
