The Pensacola Ice Flyers re-signed forward Tyler Burnie for the 2026-27 season. Burnie joined the team ahead of the 2025-26 season and appeared in 54 regular-season games. He recorded five goals, 22 assists and 27 points during the regular season.
The 6-foot-4 forward also recorded two goals and one assist in three playoff games. A native of Midhurst, Ontario, Burnie brought size, playmaking ability and physical presence to the Ice Flyers forward group. The 2026-27 season will be Burnie’s second year with the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
“We’re excited to bring Tyler back to Pensacola,” Head Coach Jeremy Gates said. “He has great hockey sense and hockey IQ. He brings size and energy along with a competitiveness to our team with the ability of adding physicality. He can contribute in different situations and has a team-first mentality.”
Burnie said he wants to continue his career in Pensacola and pursue a championship with the Ice Flyers. “I’m looking forward to being back,” Burnie said. “There is nowhere like Pensacola and I want to win a championship here.”
