Santa Fe College has featured Ariel Obregon in its Alumni Spotlight after her two seasons with the Santa Fe College Saints softball team. Obregon played for the Saints from 2023-25 before continuing her academic journey at the University of Florida. She is pursuing a degree in nursing at Florida after graduating from Santa Fe College.
Obregon played 22 games for the Saints during her two seasons. She appeared as both a catcher and an outfielder, recorded 22 putouts and posted a .304 on-base percentage in 19 at-bats. Those figures summarize her contributions during her Santa Fe softball career.
From softball to nursing
Obregon’s interest in nursing was influenced in part by role models who worked as an emergency room nurse and as a firefighter and training chief. Their examples helped shape her interest in a career focused on service, compassion and helping people during difficult moments. She is now continuing that path through her nursing studies at the University of Florida.
Obregon celebrated her white coat ceremony as she prepared to begin clinical rotations. The ceremony marked her transition toward hands-on clinical training. It also represents the latest step in her move from Santa Fe College athletics into nursing.
FSB Take
Obregon’s story connects a documented Santa Fe softball career with a new academic focus at the University of Florida. Her white coat ceremony provides a clear milestone as she moves toward clinical rotations. The transition gives the Saints community a meaningful continuation of her development beyond the softball field.
