The Miami Dolphins will return to action Sunday when they host the Saints at Hard Rock Stadium following a trip to Madrid and a bye week. The game begins the final six contests of the 2025 regular season. It also marks the Saints’ first trip to Hard Rock Stadium since 2009.

Sunday’s matchup is the Dolphins’ designated My Cause, My Cleats game. Players, coaches and staff will wear custom-designed cleats to spotlight causes and nonprofit organizations they support. Dolphins players also will wear special cleats representing nonprofit organizations as part of the initiative.

Dolphins provide personnel updates

Head Coach Mike McDaniel said Darren Waller’s window to return from injured reserve will open this week. McDaniel said Jason Sanders is getting healthier but is not yet ready to return. He also said Austin Jackson, whose return window opened two weeks ago, will receive more opportunities to integrate into the offense.

“Darren’s (Waller) window will open, and we’ll integrate him back into things. Jason Sanders, he’s doing a great job getting healthier and we’re getting close to that moment but not quite there,” McDaniel said.

McDaniel said he feels confident about Jackson’s progress through the week as long as there are no setbacks. Defensive Coordinator Anthony Weaver said the bye week should provide time for players to rest and recharge while maintaining their conditioning. Weaver also said players should identify mental, physical, prehab and rehab areas in which they can improve.

Miami prepares for Saints playmakers

McDaniel praised Saints linebacker Demario Davis and Cam Jordan for their long careers and sustained production. He said Davis has presented protection challenges and praised his physical approach. McDaniel also said Davis and Jordan are “unicorns in this league” because of their elite athletic production over decades.

Weaver identified Saints wide receiver Chris Olave as the team’s go-to receiver. Weaver said Olave can run every route, play in the slot or outside and get in and out of his breaks. “He is absolutely their go to guy as a receiver,” Weaver said.

Players spotlight causes with cleats

Dolphins offensive tackle Patrick Paul will wear cleats supporting Movember and men’s mental health. Paul said the initiative can bring more awareness to the difficulty many men have discussing their feelings. “So mine is really just bringing more awareness to that and just men’s mental health, I think is really important,” Paul said.

Defensive tackle Zach Sieler will wear cleats supporting the Sieler Safe Haven Foundation, which he and his wife started about four years ago. The foundation helps local Miami-area youth spend time outdoors and encourages them to explore and develop a passion for outdoor activities. “I think sometimes we get so stuck inside and stuck on our phones or whatever that I think it really takes us back to reality, and that’s one of our big passions,” Sieler said.
