The Sharks completed another unbeaten conference campaign and earned the No. 2 seed in the SSC Tournament.
Sharks finish unbeaten in conference play
Nova Southeastern went 3-0-2 across its final five SSC matches. The closing stretch included a road draw against Eckerd College, followed by victories over Embry-Riddle, Rollins College and Saint Leo University. The Sharks defeated Embry-Riddle 2-0, Rollins 3-1 and Saint Leo 1-0 during that run.
Genesis Hernandez and Kristina Syragakis played key roles during Nova Southeastern’s closing conference stretch. The Sharks finished league play with a 1-1 draw against Tampa. Nova Southeastern then clinched a share of the championship after Florida Tech lost to Florida Southern.
Nova Southeastern earns No. 2 tournament seed
Nova Southeastern will host No. 7 seed Rollins College in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament quarterfinals. The match is scheduled for Nov. 2 at Amerant Bank Field at NSU Soccer Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The tournament berth follows a conference season in which the Sharks did not lose an SSC match.
FSB Take
Nova Southeastern’s 6-0-4 conference record produced both a second consecutive championship share and the No. 2 tournament seed. The unbeaten league campaign also places the Sharks at home for their quarterfinal matchup with Rollins College. That combination gives Nova Southeastern a direct opportunity to build on its regular-season success when the SSC Tournament begins.
