The Sunshine State Conference named Florida Southern College women’s golfer Ava La Belle its first Golfer of the Week for the 2026-27 season on Sept. 10. La Belle received the honor after finishing third at the SSC Warm Up at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla. The award is the first Sunshine State Conference weekly honor of her career.
The senior from Webster, N.Y., posted a 7-over two-round score of 148. She opened with a 4-over 76 that included one birdie before shooting a 3-over 75 in the final round. Her third-place finish put her ahead of the complete lineups from Palm Beach Atlantic and Bethune-Cookman.
The two players ahead of La Belle competed for host school Seminole State College, which won the team title. Florida Southern College finished second among five teams at the SSC Warm Up. La Belle earned All-SSC third-team recognition the previous season.
