Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes as the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Cleveland Browns 34-10 in a 2026 Week 1 game Sunday at EverBank Stadium. Lawrence completed 18 of 23 passes for 245 yards without an interception, giving Jacksonville an efficient start to the season.
Parker Washington caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Lawrence on the Jaguars’ first drive. Washington finished with five receptions for 83 yards and the touchdown, while Lawrence completed passes to eight different receivers in the first half.
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen praised Lawrence after the game. “Was definitely pleased with the way Trevor ran the offense today,” Coen said.
Jacksonville Jaguars Find Balance on Offense
The Jacksonville Jaguars paired their passing production with an effective running game. Bhayshul Tuten, Ameer Abdullah and Chris Rodriguez Jr. combined for 25 carries and 121 yards. Including carries by quarterbacks and receivers, Jacksonville finished with 126 rushing yards at 3.9 yards per carry.
The performance came after the Jaguars did not play their starters in the preseason. Coen called the victory “A true team win” and said, “It’s good to know you have guys who are bought in and who are all together. It was a ‘spread-around’ game. That’s where you can point to the standard and having confidence in each other. I have confidence in them. They have confidence in what they’re doing and hopefully it continues to carry over.”
Washington also credited Lawrence’s confidence in his second year in the offense. “He’s a baller,” Washington said of Lawrence. “It’s his second year in this offense. We are all confident in him. He knows what he is capable of and he knows he is special. He goes out there and does it each week.”
Jacksonville Defense Produces Impact Plays
Ventrell Miller and Branson Combs combined for 13 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. Foyesade Oluokun intercepted Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in the first quarter, and Miller affected the play while blitzing Watson.
Anton Harrison made his first NFL career start at left tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He faced Cleveland Browns defensive end Jared Verse, who did not record a quarterback hit or pressure against Harrison.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are scheduled to play at Denver in Week 2 on the following Sunday.
