Privacy at Florida Sports Blog
Effective October 22, 2026. This policy explains how Florida Sports Blog at https://floridasportsblog.com handles information when you read our coverage, contact us, subscribe, comment or use an account. For privacy questions and requests, email icesixpack@marylandsportsblog.com.
Information you provide
When you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address and message. Newsletter subscriptions use the email address you provide to deliver requested updates. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter.
When visitors leave comments, WordPress collects the information in the comment form, together with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Approved comments and any public display name or website link may be visible to other readers. Do not submit confidential information in a public comment.
An anonymized string made from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to determine whether you use that service. If your comment is approved, your profile picture may appear beside it. See Automattic’s privacy policy for information about Gravatar and Jetpack services.
Cookies, technical information and analytics
Our website and service providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, referring pages and interactions with the site to operate, secure and understand readership. WordPress and Jetpack provide site functionality and readership statistics. Cookies and similar technologies may support login sessions, preferences, analytics and embedded media.
If you choose to save your comment details, WordPress can store your name, email and website in cookies for one year. Login cookies generally last two days, or two weeks if Remember Me is selected; screen preference cookies last one year. Logging out removes login cookies. A temporary login test cookie is discarded when you close your browser, and an article-edit cookie expires after one day.
Google advertising and your choices
Where Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize advertising based on visits across the Internet. Ad serving may involve cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers.
You can manage Google’s personalized advertising at My Ad Center. You can also learn about participating vendors’ opt-out choices at YourAdChoices. Google explains its use of partner-site data at Google’s Business Data Responsibility privacy page. These controls do not necessarily remove advertising; they affect how advertising is selected.
Where a consent or privacy-choice message is displayed, use its controls to manage the choices available for your location. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, although some site features may stop working. This policy itself does not collect consent or change your browser settings.
Embedded media and external links
Our articles and Media Hub may contain YouTube videos, images and other content supplied by external services. Embedded content can behave as though you visited the provider’s website, including collecting data, setting cookies and recording interactions, particularly if you are signed into that service. Review Google’s privacy policy for YouTube. External websites and linked stores have their own privacy practices.
Accounts, purchases and service providers
If you register an account, WordPress stores the profile information you supply and administrators can access it to manage the site. If you place an order through an enabled store, information needed to process payment, deliver products and provide support may be shared with the payment, ecommerce and fulfillment providers involved in that order. Review the checkout notices and applicable provider policies before purchasing.
Hosting, email delivery, site maintenance, security, analytics and spam-detection providers may process information to provide their services. Visitor comments may be checked by an automated spam-detection service. A password-reset email may include the requesting IP address.
Retention and requests
Comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely to support moderation and follow-up discussions. Account information remains available while the account is maintained; correspondence and transaction records may be kept as needed for support, administration, security and applicable obligations. Registered users can review or edit profile information, except their username.
You may contact us to request access, correction, export or deletion of personal information associated with your account or comments. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Information required for administrative, legal or security purposes may need to be retained.
Updates and contact
We may revise this policy as site features and service providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Send privacy questions to icesixpack@marylandsportsblog.com or visit our contact page.
