Adrian Santana’s leadoff RBI double in the top of the 10th inning gave the Pensacola Blue Wahoos a 5-4 victory over the Montgomery Biscuits on Aug. 27 at DABOS Park in Montgomery, Ala.
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos rallied from an early deficit and forced extra innings before Santana’s hit off Justin Yeager scored pinch runner Jay Beshears. The double put Pensacola ahead 5-4, and the Blue Wahoos held on for their ninth extra-inning win in 10 games.

Eliazar Dishmey started for Pensacola and was relieved by Mason Vinyard with two outs in the fifth inning. Brandon Compton doubled in the fourth inning and scored on Fenwick Trimble’s RBI single, cutting Montgomery’s lead to 2-1.
Trimble put the Pensacola Blue Wahoos ahead in the sixth inning with a two-run single that scored Compton and Dillon Lewis. Montgomery answered in the bottom half of the inning when Mac Horvath drove in two runs to give the Biscuits a 4-3 lead. Ryan Ignoffo then picked Ryan Spikes off third base to end the rally.
Juan Matheus tied the game in the eighth inning with a squeeze-bunt single that scored Adrian Santana. Nigel Belgrave replaced Vinyard in the bottom of the eighth and delivered a no-hit relief appearance, earning the win and improving to 5-5.
Santana delivers in the 10th
Santana opened the 10th inning with his double off Yeager, bringing home Beshears and giving Pensacola the lead. Brandon Compton walked and stole second base to put two runners in scoring position, but Yeager stranded both runners.
Santana’s RBI proved to be enough. Belgrave continued his no-hit relief appearance before Luis Palacios recorded the final out in the 10th inning for his third save, while Yeager took the loss and fell to 0-1.
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos improved to 71-51 overall and 35-18 in the second half. Pensacola is 9-1 in extra-inning games, and its magic number fell to nine with 15 games remaining after a win and a Columbus loss.
