The Osceola Magic hired Nathan Burger as president of business operations, the organization announced Oct. 29. Burger will oversee Osceola’s revenues, marketing, communications and business operations. He brings nearly two decades of sales and events experience to the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic.

Burger joined the Orlando Magic in 2016 and spent the last two years as director of group sales. He played a key role in Orlando finishing first in the NBA in group sales in each of his 10 seasons with the organization. In that role, he was responsible for managing and developing the ticket sales department.

Experience across the basketball business

Before joining the Orlando Magic, Burger worked for Pacers Sports & Entertainment for seven years. He began in inside sales for the Indiana Fever and later became manager of group events and programs. The experience gave him a background in sales, events and group business across professional basketball.

Burger also has extensive community involvement in Central Florida. He serves as a board member for Junior Achievement of Central Florida and the Dr. Phillips YMCA, and he has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters for 10 years as a volunteer, mentor and board member. His previous community leadership includes serving as affiliate chair of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and as a board member for the Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Burger earned a degree in sport administration from Ball State University. He mentors participants in the Sport Administration Alumni Connections program. His community and professional background will now accompany his responsibilities across Osceola’s business operations.

Osceola’s business leadership

The Osceola Magic are based in Kissimmee, Florida, and are the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic. The organization won the 2021 G League championship and reached the 2025 G League Finals. Off the court, the Magic were named the 2024 St. Cloud Chamber New Business of the Year.

Burger’s hiring places several central business functions under an executive with experience in group sales, ticket sales, events and community engagement. His responsibilities will include revenues, marketing, communications and business operations. Those areas cover the primary off-court functions identified in his new role with the Osceola Magic.

FSB Take

The hiring gives the Osceola Magic a business operations president with nearly two decades of relevant sales and events experience. Burger also arrives with direct knowledge of the Orlando Magic organization and experience working with group sales and ticket sales. That combination aligns with the revenue, marketing, communications and business responsibilities attached to his new position.
