University of South Florida Women’s Soccer will visit the Charlotte 49ers on Thursday, October 15, with a chance to earn its first American Conference victory of the season. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Charlotte, N.C., and will be broadcast on ESPN+. Live statistics also will be available.

South Florida enters the match at 2-7-3 overall and 0-3-2 in American Conference play. The Bulls are coming off a 1-0 loss to Temple on October 11. Charlotte enters at 7-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play after a 1-2 loss to Memphis on October 11.

Charlotte Brings Conference Scoring Threat

Evie Craven leads the Charlotte 49ers with eight goals this season. She ranks third in the American Conference in goals and leads the conference in shots on goal, averaging 2.08 per game. Harlee Head ranks third in the conference in saves per game, averaging 4.00.

South Florida will counter with goalkeeper Gaby Rourke, who ranks second in the conference in saves at 4.90 per game. Rourke’s standing gives the Bulls an experienced presence in goal as they face a Charlotte team that has scored through Craven’s conference-leading attacking activity. The match also gives South Florida an opportunity to respond after its loss to Temple.

South Florida Holds Series Advantage

South Florida leads the all-time series against Charlotte 6-5-3. The Bulls won the teams’ most recent meeting, defeating the Charlotte 49ers 3-0 on November 3 at the American Conference Championship in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

That series result provides recent success for South Florida against Charlotte, but the current conference records give the 49ers the stronger position entering Thursday’s match. South Florida will be seeking its first conference win while Charlotte enters with three conference victories. The road match is the next opportunity for the Bulls to improve their American Conference record.

Match Details

University of South Florida Women’s Soccer will play the Charlotte 49ers at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 15, in Charlotte, N.C. ESPN+ will carry the broadcast, and live statistics will be available. Chris Brown is entering his third season as South Florida’s head coach.

Brown led South Florida to 12 wins in 2024 and guided the Bulls to a 9-8-3 overall record and an American Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal appearance in 2025.

FSB Take

South Florida enters Thursday’s road match needing its first American Conference win, while Charlotte brings a 3-2-1 conference record and a notable scoring threat in Evie Craven. The Bulls have the recent series result and an all-time advantage, but they will need to manage Charlotte’s attack and capitalize on their chances. Gaby Rourke’s conference standing in saves gives South Florida a key defensive strength for the matchup.
