Brandon Lockridge drove in five runs with run-scoring doubles in the second and eighth innings, leading the Nashville Sounds to an 8-5 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Aug. 28, 2026, at VyStar Ballpark.
Lockridge delivered his final double with Nashville leading 5-3 in the eighth inning. Tyler Black and Jacob Hurtubise walked before Daniel Guilarte reached on a fielder’s choice, loading the bases for Lockridge. His double down the left-field line brought home all three runners and extended the Sounds’ lead to 8-4.
Jared Serna launched his second home run of the game to lead off the ninth inning, cutting Jacksonville’s deficit to 8-5. It was Serna’s second multi-homer game of the season and his first since June 11 against Gwinnett. Nashville reliever Blake Holub then retired Jacksonville in order to secure the victory and even the series at two games apiece.
Nashville Builds Early Advantage
Nashville scored twice in the second inning against Jacksonville starter Bradley Blalock. Jacob Hurtubise reached on a fielder’s choice, Daniel Guilarte walked and Lockridge followed with a double to the right-center gap that scored both runners.
Luke Adams, Blake Burke and Brock Wilken opened the third inning with singles for Nashville, and Wilken’s hit drove in Adams to make it 3-0. Jacksonville answered in the bottom of the inning when Maximo Acosta walked, stole second and advanced to third on an error. Jonathon Long drove in Acosta with a groundout to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Lockridge reached base and scored on Bo Naylor’s fourth-inning double to the right-field wall, restoring Nashville’s three-run advantage. Jacksonville responded with a two-out rally when Gage Miller walked and scored on Serna’s two-run homer, bringing the Jumbo Shrimp within one run at 4-3.
Wilken hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to put Nashville ahead 5-3. Blalock was charged with the loss, dropping to 3-10.
