The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp announced Sept. 3 that Boom Ball will bring its co-ed baseball entertainment experience to VyStar Ballpark in Jacksonville, Florida, on May 8, 2027. The event will be part of Boom Ball’s 2027 nationwide tour. Boom Ball is described as a high-energy touring baseball show.
Each Boom Ball event includes six innings and lasts two hours. The Lucky Llamas and the Chaos Crew compete in the events, which combine baseball and softball talent with trick plays, crowd interaction and entertainment. The format also includes interactive fan moments and music throughout the experience.
David Ratz, vice president of special events for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, welcomed the tour stop. “The Jumbo Shrimp are thrilled to welcome one of the premier touring baseball acts to VyStar Ballpark in 2027. As part of our constant effort to bring more affordable family fun to Jacksonville, we’re confident their fun style of play is sure to entertain fans of all ages, so get your Boom Ball tickets early!” Ratz said. The event will be held at the same ballpark where the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp play their home games.
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins and compete in the International League. The team identified itself as the 2025 International League and Triple-A National Champions. VyStar Ballpark is also used for a variety of community-focused events.
